Kobermann is the project of Vienna-based musician, sound artist and label owner Johannes Piller. His music moves between dub, tribal, ambient and minimalism: modular and analogue synthesizers, field recordings and rhythms that circle rather than push. Organic rather than aggressive, patient rather than loud.
His roots lie in Vienna's club scene, including as head of booking at Grelle Forelle and event manager at Das Werk. As Laminat he released on Sama Recordings from 2014; as Kobermann, albums, EPs and cassettes followed on Goldgelb Records, Doom Chakra Tapes, Vienna Underground Traxx and his own label A.T.C. Records, along with remixes for Bad Stream, Cosmica Bandida and A_Phan.
With Unterland (2025), his seventh album, he offered a meditative counterpoint to the acceleration of digital culture. In 2027 Sommerhits, the tenth release on A.T.C. Records, arrives as a 12" in an edition of 100. He also hosts the radio show If Not When Then Now.
